Too thin for sharp tools

The leather is too thin for sharp tools. It's folded over and sewn along the long sides. Other covers I've had success with such as sorby and barr units sandwich a spacer piece of leather between the sides giving the edge a space to sit, plus the leather is about 3x thicker. They are much more expensive though. The barr chisel with factory edge cut through the cover the first time I tried it. Might be ok for blunter tools like a cold chisel.
