Exact same information and thoughts as Gene St. Louis...

I'm a retired carpenter/framer and have used Vaughan hand tools from day one, particularly their California framer hammer (I started in '75 and I think it came out a couple of years later), and have carried one of their their nail pullers in my bags for decades as well. I, too, ordered several (five) as I thought Vaughan was leaving us forever. The shipment arrived earlier this week and I thought I would try to find the imperfections. It wasn't easy. One had the slightest ding on an edge mid-handle, and I thought, really, this is it? The next three had slight imperfections, some dimpling, in the steel finish, but not the paint, around a square cm or so. I laughed at those three. The last one had the slightest bend at the end of the fishtail/flared nail puller, but nothing a good whack with a smooth faced single jack wouldn't fix. Seriously, all the flaws were very, very minor, and I'm very happy I bought them.

Great value, get them while you can

I ordered 7 Vaughan seconds/ Grayvik pry bars, one of each type offered by Epstein’s. With Vaughan shutting down, I decided to get them while I can. After examining each in detail, I’m wondering why these were “dumped” as blemished. They look just fine to me. Unfortunately, all Vaughan tools have already disappeared from my local stores so cannot compare them to off-the-shelf equivalents. As basic demolition tools, they are going to be scratched and scuffed up in short order anyway. Take advantage of the savings on these while you can.
