Narex Butt Chisels Individuals and 4 Piece Set (853750)

These butt chisels are made by Narex of the Czech Republic and are of exceptional quality. The blades are made from fine-grained, nicely tempered chrome-manganese steel and hardened to 59 HRc. The blades take and hold an excellent edge. The blades are accurately ground and the sides are ground at a sharp bevel ending to a very narrow landing on each side, providing excellent sidewall clearance. They are ground at a 25 degree bevel. Blades are a full 1/4" thick toward the handle adding strength and making them easier to control. Handles are stained European Beech with a flat on the back to prevent rolling off the bench. Blades have well-seated heavy steel tangs and handles solid brass ferrules to withstand vigorous mallet work.
